Villanova University
is a private university that was founded in 1842 by the Order of Saint
Augustine. It is located in Radnor Township, a suburb northwest of
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, within the Archdiocese of Philadelphia in the
United States.
Villanova has a total
undergraduate enrollment of 7,042, its setting is suburban, and the campus size
is 260 acres. It utilizes a semester-based academic calendar. Villanova
University's ranking in the 2015 edition of Best Colleges is Regional
Universities (North),
Villanova Core
curriculum features four courses in theology and philosophy, and nine
additional core courses in writing, history, math, natural sciences, foreign
language, theology and fine arts. The university has a four-year pre-med
program, plus combined bachelor’s and master's programs in 12 fields. Four of
Villanova's five schools serve undergraduate and graduate students, and
graduate programs include those in the Villanova School of Business and School
of Law. Undergraduates can enter the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences,
Villanova School of Business, College of Engineering or College of Nursing.
Accreditation
Villanova and its
programs have received accreditation by the Commission on Higher Education of
the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, the AACSB International,
and the Computing Sciences Accreditation Board. Villanova is a member in good
standing of the National Association for College Admission Counseling.
