UNIVERSITY OF TORONTO

The University of Toronto (commonly known as U of T, UToronto,) is a public research university in Toronto, Ontario situated on the grounds that surround Queen's Park. It was founded  in 1827 
by royal charter as King's College. U of T is the first institution of higher learning in the colony of Upper Canada. As a collegiate university, it comprises twelve colleges that differ in character and history, each retaining substantial autonomy on financial and institutional affairs.


The University of Toronto is of the strongest research and teaching faculties in North America, presenting top students at all levels with an intellectual environment unmatched in breadth and depth on any other Canadian campus. The university faculty menbers are also widely recognized for their teaching strengths and commitment to graduate supervision.
